Children who use mobile phones are five times more likely to develop brain tumours, research has suggested. Children who use mobiles risk brain tumours, report warns. And the risk of talking on a cordless landline phone is almost as great. Young children and teenagers are more susceptible to phone radiation because their skulls are thinner and still developing. The study found that those who used mobiles up to the age of 20 were five times more likely to get benign, but often disabling tumours of the auditory nerve, which can cause deafness.The findings prompted experts to recommend that children under 12 only use mobiles in emergencies, and that teenagers stick to using hands-free sets or texting.
